Executive Team

Greg Branch, Chief Investment Officer

Greg is SCIO’s CIO and one of its founding partners. Prior to joining SCIO, Greg was at Deutsche Bank AG London, where he headed up the European ABS/CDO trading desk after joining in 2000 as Director and Head of Analytics for the Structured Products Group in Europe. Greg joined Deutsche Bank from Lehman Brothers in New York, where he headed the Commercial Mortgage Analytics group.

Greg holds a Master’s Degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

Jörn Czech, Head of Business Development and Investor Relations

Jörn is in charge of managing and developing client relationships and tailoring our offering to their needs. He brings significant and valuable experience in providing highly efficient solutions to the regulatory and economic challenges of investors. Before working in Goldman Sachs’ Pension and Insurance Solutions group, Jörn spent a decade in Deutsche Bank’s Global Markets division, with responsibility for their investment solutions to institutional real money investors. He was based in London and Frankfurt at both Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank. He started his career as a fixed income trader at the private National-Bank in Essen, Germany. Joern holds a BA in International Management from HZ University, Netherlands, and a Diplom Kaufmann from FOM Hochschule für Oekonomie & Management, Essen, Germany.

Eric Eastlund, Head of Analytics

Eric has over 15 years of experience in structured finance and securitisation. Prior to SCIO, Eric spent nine years at Deutsche Bank AG London, where he was head of Financial Engineering structuring RMBS and ABS transactions. Before joining Deutsche Bank, Eric played a key role in the expansion of GMAC-RFC’s mortgage lending business into the UK and was a senior consultant at KPMG Advisory in Washington, DC. Eric studied Finance and Statistics at DePaul University in Chicago and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Kevin Flaherty, Head of Syndicate

Previously, Kevin was Managing Partner at Trimast Capital in Miami and Deutsche Bank AG London’s Head of Structured Product Syndicate for Europe, Asia and Australia for 11 years. Kevin joined Deutsche Bank from Barclays Capital, where he worked within the ABS Trading and Research team in London and New York for seven years. Kevin holds a Master’s Degree from the Cornell University S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Vermont.

Jason Harris, Chief Risk Officer

Jason is an executive director and chief risk officer. Previously, Jason was a director at Deutsche Bank AG London and head of European securitisation credit risk, where he was responsible for a multi-billion euro portfolio of ABS, RMBS and CLO positions, and played a lead role in the development of internal securitisation methodologies and procedures. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Jason was at Citigroup, London in their credit risk management area.

Michael Heidecker, Chief Operating Officer

Michael is one of the founding partners at SCIO Capital. Prior to SCIO, Michael was principal at The Boston Consulting Group in Hamburg and Athens, and a member of its financial services core group. He is also founding partner and managing partner of Stratfields, an entrepreneurial boutique consultancy in Hamburg, Germany, that specialises in top management consulting for financial institutions as well as supporting promising business models in the financial services industry during the start-up and growth phases.
