Lloyd Jones is a real estate investment, development, and management firm that specializes in multifamily and senior housing throughout Florida, Texas, and the Southeast. Lloyd Jones and its experienced team has successfully invested in and operated multifamily real estate through multiple cycles spanning four decades: as managers for the FDIC in the ‘80s; and as developers, investors, and managers of multifamily assets thereafter. Since 1990, Lloyd Jones has developed, owned, and managed approximately $1.1B in total multifamily housing assets. We focus on the markets we know, where we maintain local teams – our “boots-on-the-ground” – providing unique insight into market trends and off-market investment opportunities. As an owner/operator, we manage our own properties with our award-winning management team. Because we offer a vertically integrated investment/operations platform, we are totally aligned with the interests of our investment partners. In addition, Lloyd Jones invests its own capital in the investments we sponsor, further reinforcing that alignment. Our partners include institutional investors, family offices, and individual accredited investors.
Chris Finlay – Chairman/CEO
Chris Finlay began investing in real estate early in his career as a commercial airline pilot with Eastern Airlines. Casual investing soon evolved into a major commercial real estate business, and in 1983 Chris resigned from Eastern to concentrate exclusively on the Finlay Company. During the ensuing years, Chris grew the company into one of the largest real estate firms in New England.
In 1990, he began to focus on real estate development, and over the next fifteen years developed, constructed, and managed approximately 40 multifamily communities.
The Great Recession of 2008 provided numerous investment opportunities in the multifamily arena, and after a few years of investing for his own account, Chris established Lloyd Jones to offer outside investors an opportunity to participate in his acquisitions. Today, he leverages his successful 40-year track record to lead Lloyd Jones as Chairman and CEO.
Chris’s education includes Upper Canada College and post-graduate studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has also completed extensive industry training. He is on the board of the National Multifamily Housing Council, a member of The American Seniors Housing Association, and a strong supporter of Shelters to Shutters, a non-profit organized to connect individuals facing homelessness to opportunities for employment and housing within the multifamily community.
